Adidas Stars and Stripes BJJ Gi Review
I use this gi for Jiu Jitsu. It could be used for Judo as well. This gi fits well and has withstood some punishment from training and competition. More details below!
Gi Fit
It fits as expected, which is good. Not too tight and not too loose. If there was one complain I had it was that there was maybe a little too much fabric in the shoulders compared to other BJJ gis, but not enough to be a big deal.
Like with most gis, this one will shrink in the dryer. I usually try not to dry my gis, but I think I accidentally dried this one at some point, and that’s why the shoulders are too small. Adidas advertises “NO SHRINKING” for this gi, but that’s just not possible. It didn’t shrink much, but I still recommend never putting your gi in the dryer. Air dry your gi and you will get more life out of it.
Gi Quality
I’ve been using this gi for about 4 years now and it has held up well. Some minor wear on the collar, but that’s to be expected. I’ve worn this gi for both training and tournament competition. It’s extremely solid. The only thing that has happened is one belt loop broke, which is to be expected with a 4 year old gi. This gi is high quality and built to last.
Gi Style
The gray with blue looks great. The inner cuffs of the arms and legs have red accents. Really cool style, and kind of looks like an Adidas track suit. The inside lining has stars on it, and feels silky smooth.
I especially like off-color of the collar. It’s a unique look and color scheme that you don’t see on many gis, if ever.
