Diamond MMA Compression Shorts and Athletic Cup

Diamond MMA Cup

Not everyone likes to wear a cup for training, or even grappling tournaments. Have fun getting your balls smashed. I wear a cup every day, for every kind of training. Never having to worry about getting hurt in half guard or whatever weird position allows you to just focus on grappling.

Cup and Compression Shorts Fit

The compression shorts fit well on their own. When you put the cup in it really doesn’t change the fit. The cup fits nicely. The compression shorts have supportive straps on them that keep the cup from moving around on you. If you were to just toss a cup in regular compression shorts it would be a recipe for disaster. The last thing you want is that cup moving around on you. These shorts hold the cup in place perfectly.

Cup Comfort

This is a plastic cup with rubber edges. Being that it’s made from these softer materials, compared to a metal cup, it probably has a bit less protection from strikes. I’m more worried about getting my balls smashed in grappling positions than being kicked, so I’ll take the comfort over a bit more protection. The rubber edges give it a bit of flex, so the cup doesn’t dig into you while grappling. It’s possibly the most comfortable type of cup that could be made.

Cup Protection

As stated above, the cup is plastic and rubber. If you’re going to do strictly Muay Thai and get kicked and kneed in the groin a bunch you might want to go with a metal cup. If you’re doing MMA or grappling, I much prefer the added flex of this plastic and rubber hybrid cup. You could cause yourself some serious pain from your own cup digging into your legs and crotch if it doesn’t have any flex.

Cup and Compression Shorts Style

It’s compression shorts, so who cares what it looks like, right? That being said, the shorts do look pretty cool. The cup also has a nice style. All in all a good look.
